Dr. Mit Desai

CEO

Dr. Mit Desai graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a B.S with Honors in Microbiology in 1992 and Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1997. His residency was at UIC-MGH in Chicago, where he was the Chief Resident and Surgical Resident Teacher of the year. He received his certification from The American Board of Surgery in 2004 and re-certified in 2012. He was also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and has been for over 10 years. Dr. Desai has written numerous publications and received many awards for his achievements. Desai is the Principal/CEO of The Surgicalist Group.



 

Dr. Casey J. Thomas

DO, FACS, FACOS

Dr. Thomas earned his B.S. from Western Michigan University in 1993 and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicinedegree from Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000. He currently is a Senior Surgical Partner at Salt Lake Surgical Services. Dr. Thomas completed his internship and residency in General Surgery at Mount Clemens General Hospital. He completed his fellowship in Surgical Critical Care/Trauma at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Thomas has written numerous publications and regularly presents at national and international conferences.He has served on many local and national medical committees.Dr. Thomas is currently the Surgicalist Group’s Chief Medical Officer.

 

 

David Terry

COO

David Terry completed a fellowship in peripheral vascular surgery through Michigan State University in 2009, followed by an additional year of endovascular surgery at the Arizona Heart Institute in 2010. He received his certification in general surgery from the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery in 2010. He earned both his doctor of osteopathic medicine and his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University where he was chief intern and Surgical Resident Educator of the Year. He is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association.

 

 

Jonathan Culp

Vice President of Business Development

Jonathan Culp, VP of Business Development, graduated with Honors distinction from Bowling Green State University, where he studied Broadcast Journalism and Entrepreneurship. He is an accomplished business development leader with an extensive background focusing on elevating established and growing organizations to leading positions in outsourced physician practice management services. Prior to joining TSG, Jonathan was the Director of Business Development for OB Hospitalist Group, where he helped the company achieve new growth milestones and strategic partnerships in highly competitive markets. In addition, Culp served as the Vice President of Business Development for Northstar Anesthesia, where he delivered nearly $20mm in annualized run rate growth in both 2016 and 2017. Culp’s ability to assess and diagnose client challenges along with business and market dynamics serves to build a partnership with hospitals that delivers on key clinical quality and financial metrics.

 

Bruce Curran

VP of Finance

Bruce Curran, VP of Finance, graduated with a degree in Accounting from the University of Florida. With an extensive background as a corporate controller in the medical industry, he began his career as a senior accountant with Price Waterhouse in 1997. Competent in streamlining business practices, Curran has a well-rounded background in managing Administration, Human Resources, Operations, Payroll, Benefits and Insurance in addition to Finance.
